Welcome to
Homosassa Springs

Homosassa is home to some of the most beautiful waterways along the Florida coast. There are plenty of hiking trails to enjoy and some of the more amazing springs we have swam in. The Ellie Schiller State Park is home to many native and not-so-native animals (looking at you, Lu). Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Yulee Sugar Mill site was part of a sugar plantation that was operated during the 1800s. The park features remnants of a steam-driven mill that processed sugarcane into syrup, molasses, and rum.

The unique Monkey Island can be observed from the water or the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar. Spider monkeys are the current inhabitants of Monkey Island, a tiny chunk of land sitting in the Homosassa River. The monkeys climb on platforms, swing from ropes and clamber around the base of a small replica lighthouse. Wherever you look in Homosassa, there is a part of history or nature that brings you to the right state of mind. Homosassa Springs is also a quick car ride to many modern conveniences such as grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
