Notes

We advise any guests bringing a boat to do their due diligence getting information about the river tides and call local marinas for feedback on water specific details of the river and the vessel in question.

Neighborhood

Settle into the laid-back charm of this historic fishing community, with riverfront dining, boat launches, and outdoor adventures close to Hancock Drive.
• Restaurants: Enjoy waterfront seafood at The Freezer, a casual meal at Crumps’ Landing, or the best BBQ on the river at Roy’s Cook Shack.
• Bars: Grab a drink at the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar overlooking Monkey Island, The Shed at MacRae’s Landing, or The Freezer Tiki Bar.
• Boat ramps: Launch from the South Hancock Road ramp, the MacRae’s public boat ramp on Cherokee Way, or the Mason Creek Road public ramp. Check ramp conditions, parking, and any fees before heading out.
• Things to do: Paddle or fish the Homosassa River, visit the Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins, or see manatees and other Florida wildlife at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.

Access

The entire home is available for use minus a few locked owner areas.

Space

After a day of fishing, paddling, or boating, come home and spread out. The downstairs primary bedroom has a king bed, and three upstairs bedrooms each have a queen bed. Every bedroom has a TV, one room offers a desk, and the home has a washer and dryer to make longer stays easier.
Slow down with morning coffee on the screened-in patio off the living areas. Later, gather for dinner outdoors and finish the evening swapping stories around the fire pit. With a large lot and space for your group to relax, Captain’s Quarters is made for enjoying the easy pace of Old Homosassa.

Ready to explore? Launch options in the area include the Mason Creek Boat Ramp and MacRae’s public boat ramp. Spend your days on the Homosassa River, book a fishing or paddling outing, or visit Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. When it’s time to eat, Old Homosassa favorites include Roy’s Homosassa River Shack, The Freezer, The Yardarm and Monkey Bar.

Coming soon: A pirate-themed game room is planned for Homosassa Captain’s Quarters. It is not available yet and is not included as a current amenity.

Transit

This is a golf cart friendly community! Bring your own or rent one locally! Bikes are welcome also, we are very close to several hiking trails like the Salt Marsh Trails, Withalacochee State park and others. Otherwise it is necessery to have a vehicle.
